Hi Geron,

I like your approach to displaying tooltips in CRM4. I have created my entity, varchar fields and put the onload code in place. The entities and attributes populate when the form loads. The entity list is complete but the attributes list only shows attributes for the account entity and this list doesn't update when the entity changes. Any idea what this could be?

This code is indeed only for Dynamics 4.0.
Haven't been able to create a version for CRM2011 yet, sorry.

I would be glad to hear from you if you manage to get this working in CRM2011.

Geron, Let me start by saying thank you for this awsome post. I'm attempting to implement this and modify it so that I can create a custom filtered lookup for an account contact. I'd like the lookup to show all contacts associated to an account (including Parent/Sub Account contacts). I haven't gotten to modifying the code yet as I am getting an OnLoad error of unable to get the value of the property 'id': the value is null or undefined. I did pull in the gGetValue function and the gGetResultXML functions to support the above code. I'm wondering if you can point me in the right direction as to what I can look for. I tried debugging, but the debugger isn't returning where the error is occuring. Thank you in advanced for any assistance.

This is not true.
The if statement just validates if the close alert should be detached.
As the field after the OnLoad Event is always dirty (because it is modified by an JScript), the close alert will alsways be detached. And it will be detached for the whole form, not only for one field.

This is great. Much appreciated. I did something similar for custom entity and I didn't want to have to do through the same work to get it done. I couldn't get it to work as i. The closing } for "gIsAuthorizedForTeams = function(teams, userid){ " should be before the difinition for "gIsArray = function(obj) {" not after.

Hi Aksay,

Copy and paste the function called gFilterPicklistByArray in the Onload event.
Than go to the change event of the first picklist and paste in the part described in the example.

(Of course you need to change the attributes and items to your own)
